2009 Re-Cap!

January-Didn't have a single blog post!

February-Keeley turned two and Mikalya turned 5!

March-The girls got all dressed up in green for St. Patrick's Day!

April-Yasmine and Mikalya played a lot of soccer!

May-I took a trip to NYC w/ my dear friend Dory!

June-We enjoyed weekend trips to the lake and Frankie and I took a quick getaway to Spokane for Hoopfest!

July-My niece and nephew came to visit and Frankie and I both celebrated birthdays!

August-Lot's of Birthdays!  Yasmine, Aunt Nicole, Granmda Vicki and Papa ALL had a birthday in August.  We also got a new playset!  The girls had their first day of school.

September-We spent Labor Day in Kansas City and found out Mikayla had pnuemonia!  Keeley started dance class!

October-We had a lot of fun this month.  We went to the zoo.  Went to Caldwell and Winfield for Homecoming.  We had our first annual "Sisters and Mom" weekend!  The girls looked adorable for Halloween!

November-Frankie and I celebrated our anniversary, we traded in our beloved Armada for an Avalanche, and we enjoyed a nice Thanksgiving!

December-We had a WONDERFUL WHITE CHRISTMAS with our family!

Christmas Day

I am a little late posting pictures from Christmas Day!  We had a wonderful time and Santa was very good to us!

They woke up Christmas morning to see that Santa had come!  Yasmine said she thought she heard bells during the middle of the night when Santa was coming down the chimney:)

The next day on Saturday, we traveled to Lawton to spend Christmas with Frankie's parents.  We had a nice Christmas lunch and then opened up gifts.  Their gift to our family was a HUGE one this year.  Frankie has been wanting to replace the TV in our den for a long time because the current TV has a really bad picture on it.  His parents gave us a flat screen to put in Frankie's "man cave".  Frankie cherishes it soo much that he won't even take the plastic off of the edges yet.

Christmas Eve 2009

What a beautiful WHITE CHRISTMAS EVE!  We have had around 10-12 inches of snow today with blizzard conditions.  I am soo glad my Mom and Dad came down to Norman earlier this week because if they would have left to drive down today, there is no way they would have made it.  They have actually shut down all the interstates in Oklahoma.   
For our Christmas Eve dinner, we had a nice HOT bowl of homemade chicken and noodles with mashed potatoes... which were pefect for a snowy cold evening!  After dinner, the girls each got to pick out one present to open this evening.  Yasmine and Mikayla both picked to open their presents from Aunt Nicole, Uncle Mike, Cass and Dylan.  THEY LOVED THEIR PRESENTS!  Here are some pictures from the evening.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

It started snowing this morning and while it looks really beautiful outside and makes for a festive mood, I feel really sorry for people trying to travel on the roads to be with their families for Christmas.   The roads are horrible and I am actually watching the news as I type this and there is a 50 car pile up on the interstate.  YES...50 cars!

One of the things I love about Christmas are the family traditions.  We have decided we are going to start a new tradition and order a "wedding cake" Christmas cake every year.  I LOVE WEDDING CAKE, so we ordered the cake below from "Fancy Cakes" in Norman.  Luckily, we were able to pick up the cake this morning before the snow started to set in.  We thought it turned out SOOOO CUTE!

Family Christmas

This past weekend, we made a quick trip to Kansas City to celebrate Christmas with my sister and her family.  We were there less than 48 hours, but we still had a blast!  Below are some pictures from our weekend!

Christmas Parade 2009

This morning we layered on our long johns, sweaters, scarves, hats and mittens and attended the Norman Main Street Christmas parade!  We first fueled up at Starbucks with a cup of hot chocolate and then walked downtown and watched the parade. We had a lot of fun!

Happy 3rd Birthday Preston!

Today, Keeley attended her friend Preston's 3rd Birthday party at The Orr Family Farms.  Here is a picture of the birthday boy!

It is such a neat place for kids and Keeley had soo much fun.  First we went to the Animal Barn to pet the Goats, Sheep, Llamas, Rabbits and Pigs.  Keeley wasn't too sure about the petting part...but she liked getting an up-close look at them!  We then went on a train ride around the farm.  It was a little chilly, but Keeley was really excited to ride a choo-choo train.  After the ride, we went and warmed up in one of the barns and had birthday cake and watched Preston open his presents.  We wrapped the party up with a fun ride on the carousel.  It was good times!

After we left the party, we stopped by the mall so Keeley could get a picture with Santa.  Of course, it required Mom being in the picture because she wouldn't sit with him by herself.  As we were leaving, she stopped and said hold on!  She ran back and gave Santa a BIG hug!  It was soo cute!  I can't scan the picture to my computer here at home, so what you are seeing below is a picture of a picture:)  It looks like it was taken in the late 1970's:)  ha!
