Norman's Best Kept Secret

Today Keeley and I came across this huge playground after our morning trip to Starbucks.  This place was a dream come true to any three year old and I must admit, it was a nice change of scenery from the Burger King playset that we frequently visit.  It was a huge area and we had it ALL TO OURSELVES!  It had fake padded grass to help comfort the falls (which we had two in our short visit) and it was well-shaded which was nice for me!

See the huge playset in the right of the picture?  There is another one that same size behind where I am standing to take this picture!

My Little Rock Climber!!!

One of our "two falls" was right after this mokey bar picture. Imagine that! Thank goodness for that padded grass!

I'm back!

I dropped off the face of the earth, but I'm back.  Since I haven't blogged for a month, I have lots of catching up to do!

***Mikayla's t-ball team ended their season at the end of June and they won the championship!  It definitely kept us busy in June as Mikayla had games and practice at least two to three times a week.  If you don't think t-ball is competitive...think again.  I am not sure if the competitiveness was between the parents or the kids...but it was definitely fun to watch the girls play!

***My dad is running for County Commissioner of Sumner County, so the girls were very excited that they got to ride in the county parade with him.  It was soo cute seeing them wave at all the people along the sidewalks.  VOTE STAN BURDETT...if you live in Sumner County:)  (Which I am sure only about 1% of you reading this actually live in Sumner County..ha!)

***We decided to have a "staycation" last weekend and booked a hotel room in downtown Oklahoma City on Saturday night.  I have to say that it was one of the best weekends we have had in a long time!  No TV's, no computers...just good ol' fashion family time!  After swimming in the hotel, we ate dinner at Toby Keith's Bar and Grill which might just have the best mashed potatoes in this world.  After that, we walked around and took in the sights and sounds of bricktown.

***This week I had to take a quick business trip to Sacramento and Fresno.  I flew into Sacramento on Monday night, had meetings Tuesday, drove to Fresno Tuesday night and had meetings all day Wednesday in Fresno before flying back home that night.  It was a whirlwind trip, but we got a lot accomplished.  The highlight of the trip was sitting one table away from Arnold Schwarzenegger during one of my lunch meetings.  It was a little odd having three secret servicemen stare at you while you eat, but I didn't care...it was the GOVERNATOR!

Below are pictures from the last month!

(this was a "let me pull out my blackberry and check email while I snap a picture of Arnold Schwarzenegger" moment, hence, the quality of the picture:)
