October re-cap

October has flown by!  Only 2 1/2 more weeks until Frankie and I head to Cancun for a 5 day vacation!  WHOO-HOO!  Here are some pics from the last couple of weeks:

Keeley has been BEGGING me to straighten her hair.  I finally did it last Sunday.  She was soo excited.  I think it looks cute, but nothing replaces that curly hair!





Keeley wanted to wear her sunglasses with her straight hair so she could look like Mommy.  She is my little mini-me!

I was suppose to have a business trip to Indianapolis this week.  I had a connection in Chicago and due to the really windy weather, my flight to Indianapolis was cancelled.  All the flights back home for the day were cancelled too...sooooo...I was stuck in Chicago overnight.  What did I do?  Went to Michigan Avenue!!  I had to make the most of it!

GIRLS Weekend!!!!

This weekend, two of my very best friends from college, Cicely and Sara, came down to OKC for a weekend of "girl time".  No kids.  No Hubby's.  Just the three of us...enjoying the wonderful friendship that we share together. 
We stayed at my house on Friday night and then stayed in downtown Oklahoma City on Saturday night.  We had soo much fun and the time went by waayyy too fast.  My abs should be looking really good after this weekend...as much as we laughed, I should have a nice six-pack going:)


Here are some pics of our fun weekend.  I already miss them.  Like really, really, really miss them.  Come back, girls!!

The girls had just got to town and we were getting ready to go out for dinner.

After dinner, we thought it would be fun to go on campus to a bar and have a drink or two.  We forgot that when you are in college, you don't go out until after 10PM.  This picture was taken at 8:30PM and we were the only ones in the entire establishment besides the wait staff!  LOL!

I can't exactly remember what Sara was laughing at, but my guess is that Cicely said something really "wrong" and it made her giggle.

This is not a staged picture.  Sara really was reading the paper and the ads that were in it while sitting at the bar we went to on campus.  I think this picture above is the look Sara gave Cicely and I after we made fun of her for reading the paper.

This was Saturday morning at my house.  As you can see, some things never change.  I can't tell you how many times Cicely would pounce on us in our dorm rooms in college and make us curl up and take a nap with her after our long hard basketball practices.  Frankie thinks we are weird.  I said, "What, didn't you curl up and take naps with your basketball teammates in college?"  His answer was NO!

We got a good laugh out of this picture.  Sara is 5 foot 2 inches.  Cicely is 5 foot 10 inches.  Cicely thought it would be funny to try on Sara's jeans.  This picture doesn't really give it justice as to how funny this really was.

We are at our hotel getting ready for a night on the town!  Sara likes to joke that three of us are tripletts and that Cicely and I sucked out all the nutrients, which is why she is soo little.

OK.  The funniest part about this picture is the girl walking by.  You can tell she is thinking to herself... "What a wierdo!".  In the mean time, Cicely decided to have fun with one of the halloween props.

We were walking by this police car, so we made Cicely go lean up against the car and act like she was getting in trouble with the law.

We made it back to our hotel and were snuggled up in bed all before midnight.  We may not be able to hang like we use to...but we still had just as much fun together like we did in College! 

Homecoming 2010

If you come from a small town, (small town-as in 1,000 people and one stoplight)...then you know how much fun Homecoming can be.  Everyone usually looks at me funny when I tell them about the big homecoming production that my hometown of Caldwell, Kansas puts on every year, but it really is neat how everyone tries to make it back to see each other.

Keeley made a new friend named Abby!  These girls hit it off the instant they met each other.  (For you Caldwellians reading this, Abby is David Wolff's little girl)

We attended the homecoming parade and assumed position to get as much candy as posible.

I think she had a little too much fun after the parade, because I found her asleep on the chair with her zebra bag full of candy on her lap. 

We went to the football game and Keeley got her face painted.

After Keeley went to bed, I met up with my best friend Shanna from High School at the one bar in Caldwell.  Actually, I think there are two bars.  Two bars for a small town is pretty impressive.  I love this girl!

For those of you that don't know...I don't have a single Aunt, Uncle or Cousin because both of my parents were only children.  These two are about as close to having cousins as me and my sister will ever get.   They are like family to us.  I babysat them when they were littlle...uggggg...I feel old.  

(Dana-we missed you this year, but considering you are days away from giving birth, you had an excused absence:!!)

Fall Basketball

The girls are playing fall basketball and today was Mikayla's 1st basketball game of the season.   She was playing against all boys and she scored 9 of their 12 points.  Let me tell you...Frankie and I were soo proud of that girl that it brought tears to our eyes.  It was definitely one of those "parenting" moments that I will never forget. 

The gym is pretty dark, so my pictures aren't that great...but here you go!

RoughRider Run

Today at Yasmine and Mikayla's school, they had their annual fundraiser which is called the RoughRider Run.  The last two weeks, they have been going out and getting pledges from people based on how many laps they could run around the track.  Today was the big run and they had 30 minutes to see how many laps they could run/walk.  The girls did awesome...but they were sooo tired!  Yasmine made it 12 laps and Mikayla was able to get in 11 laps.  Mikayla was pretty upset when she heard she didn't get as many laps as Yasmine, however, as I am typing this, I just realized the 1st graders only had 25 minutes for their run and the 4th graders (Yasmine) had 30 minutes, so it makes sense that Yasmine had more!  Wheeew, Mikayla will be relieved.

Me and my little runner!  If I had planned better, I would have taken another set of clothes to work to change into so I could run with her.  There were several other parents running with the kids, so I was bummed...but NEXT year, I will be better prepared.

Today on this lazy Saturday, we have:

WWE fanatics

 Frankie has somehow managed to turn our daughters into full fledged WWE wrestling fans, so when we told them we bought tickets to Friday Night Smackdown in Oklahoma City, they were beyond ecstatic! Last night was the big night and they had soo much fun. I didn't partake in the activities and decided to stay at home for a nice quiet and relaxing evening to myself! I DVR'd the show and the girls were excited when they got home because they could see themselves on TV every once in awhile when the camera cut to the crowd. They had a SUPER FUN Night with Daddy!
