Pie in the face

This is what I got when Yasmine scored a 100% on her spelling test! We studied really hard and I told her if she got a 100% on her spelling test, I would let her throw a pie in my face. Well, guess what. She didn't miss a single word. The video below is hilarious. Apparently Keeley thought Yasmine was hurting Mommy by throwing a pie in my face and she bursted in tears!!

Now that's what I call a GOOD DAY!

When I arrived home from work today, Frankie and the girls had a special surprise for me.  They whipped out this incredibly SWEET cookie cake!  And what makes it even better is that they weren't making up for something they had done wrong, they just knew it would bring a smile to my face!   I LOVE MY HUBBY and MY GIRLS!

Trip to the Zoo

Today we took the girls to the Oklahoma City Zoo.  We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day to go.  Here are some pics from our day!

Livestock and Fried Snickers

These were just a few things you could enjoy at the Oklahoma State Fair! On Saturday afternoon, it was a beautiful day out so I decided I would take Keeley to the Oklahoma State Fair.  Her favorite activity was "The City of AGtropolis" where she got to see honey bees, butterflies, rabbits, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens and cows!  After we visited all the animals, we walked around and rode the "Fair Lift" ride that takes you from one end of the fairground to the other.  It was a mommy-daughter day and we had lots of FUN!

"Hmmm...where should I go first?"

Roller Skating Party

Last weekend the girls were invited to their friend, Camryn's birthday party at the skating rink.  I was a little nervous how Keeley would do in roller skates, but it was actually pretty amusing.  I lost count of how many times she fell down, but by the end of the party, she was getting pretty good at it!

Two-Week Wrap Up

Sorry I have been a slacker when it comes to blogging.  I finally found the cord to connect my camera to the computer, so we are back in business!

I decided to sign Keeley up for a toddler dance class.  Those little girls look soooo cute in their little dance outfits!  The first class, she was a little leary, but by the second class, she was much more comfortable.  Here are some pictures of our little dancing queen.

Last week, I attended the Plattform Advertising Management Retreat in the fabulous Roach, Missouri.  I had a really great time seeing everyone.  We had several different sessions focusing on "Emotional Intelligence", and the other half of the time was spent on team bonding.  My favorite activity was the water inflatables.  I pretended I was on an episode of wipe out:)

Last night we went to Disney on Ice.  Many of you know that I started this tradition with my sister taking my neice and nephew to Disney on Ice every year.  When I moved to Oklahoma, I kept up the tradition and take the girls every year.  This was Keeley's first time going and she was obsessed with Mickey Mouse and the large bag of popcorn that I let her snack on.  Of course...I forgot my camera:(

Until next time...

Labor Day Weekend

This past weekend, we ventured up to KC to see my sister and the fam!  Frankie was not able to drive up with us with us on Friday because he had a really good friend getting married on Saturday, but we booked him a plane ticket on Sunday so that he could drive back with us on Monday.  The trip didn't start off so well as Mikayla threw up in the back seat of the car before we even left Norman, Oklahoma.  After we got the car disinfected, we were on the road again and met my parents on the interstate so Mom could ride with us to KC.  Poor Mikayla wasn't feeling real well, but we put her in the third seat row and let her lay down and sleep most of the way. The trip was going okay, until my low-pressure tire light came on.  I checked the tires, but they all looked just fine.  I started having horrible visions of us stranded on the side of the interstate. (At least my dad was following us!)  As we were about 40 miles from Topeka, I looked down to see if the tire light was still on.  GOOD NEWS!  The tire light was not on!  BAD NEWS!  We were about to run out of gas.  And wouldn't you know it...the closest gas station was over 30 miles away.  In the midst of me worrying about being stranded on the side of the road, I failed to realize my gas light was on as well.  Long story short, we made it to a gas station on fumes and managed to make it to my sister's safely on Friday night.
The next day, Mikayla still wasn't feeling well, so I took her to the urgent care facility.  Come to find out, our poor girl had pneumonia.  We got her hooked up with some good antibiotics and she started to perk up by the end of our trip.  We kept everything pretty low-key so Mikayla could lay around and get some rest.  Saturday evening, we went out to eat at a pretty good burger joint called Five Guys.
Sunday, Frankie was supposed to fly out at 8:30AM and arrive at 9:40.  He called me at 7:30AM and said he just woke up.  Turns out the snooze button on his alarm worked a little too well for him.  He booked the next flight which arrived at 3:45PM that afternoon.  After we picked him up from the airport, we went back to my sisters house for a feast of yummy BBQ.
All in all, we had a pretty good time (despite me being worried about Mikayla the entire time).  I am really glad that Yasmine, Mikayla and Keeley got to bond with their cousins Cass and Dylan!  They had a lot of fun and are ready to come back again!
