Well, we have had a very EVENTFUL last couple of days. On Wednesday afternoon, Keeley was sent home from Daycare because she was running a 101 temp. We kept her home on Thursday because she still acted like she didn't feel good. That night was horrible, she woke up every 30 minutes. She had drainage coming out of her ears and she was burning up. The next day on Friday I took her to the Urgent Care so she could get in to see the dr. first thing in the morning. Her temp had gone up to 102.7. While we were in the patient room waiting for the Dr. to give us Keeley's prescription, Keeley decided she was going to scare her mom to death. She started have a Febrile Seizure, which was caused by the sudden increase in her body temperature. It only lasted about a minute, but it seemed like 10 hours! They just removed all her clothing and started cooling her off as much as they could. I was pretty much an emotional wreck and cried the whole entire time. The Dr. said that this can be normal with children her age. It happens to about 1 in 25 children. The Dr. assured me Keeley was going to be fine and that although it is scary, the seizure is harmless. She had a check up today (Saturday) and she is doing soooo much better. She is finally starting to get back to being our little Keeley girl, getting into everything and smiling at everyone. WHAT A WEEKEND! On the other hand, Grandma and Grandpa Burdett came this weekend and we have had a wonderful time. We wished they lived here!!!
