Keeley's Birthday Party at School

Keeley has been patiently waiting for this day!  The day that Mommy and Daddy would come to her school and actually stay with her for awhile.  With Keeley's birthday being on Sunday and the fact they don't have school tomorrow due to parent/teacher conferences, we decided today would be the day that we brought cupcakes and treats for her to share with her new friends at her school.  She was beyond excited.  She kept telling me she loved me and was acting silly, which she usually does when she is happy.  Frankie and I showed up with Tinkerbell plates/napkins as well as cupcakes, cookies and capri suns.  Boy, do we know how to sugar those kids up.

Cheeeese!

Imagine that...MY daugther likes to play with purses at playtime! I hope she doesn't grow up to have a purse obsession like her Mother.

Basketball games and Birthday parties

From Yasmine and Mikayla's point of view...this was like the BEST Saturday.  EVER.

We started the day out with three basketball games.  Both Yasmine and Mikayla had their regularly scheduled games which happened to be at the SAME exact time this week.

How did Frankie coach both teams at the same time, you ask?  Well, he ended up coaching Yasmine's team until half time and then ran to the other court and traded places with the assistant coach and took over Mikayla's game for her second half.

After that was over...Mikayla had ANOTHER game which was a make up game from the week we got snowed out.  We were soo proud of our girls.  Yasmine got out their and roughed it up with the boys and Mikayla shocked us all by scoring 14 points!  I think they finally got bit by the competitive bug.

After Mikayla's last game, we had approximately 20 minutes to go home, get changed and head to the skating rink where we had Mikayla's birthday party!  After lots of skating and cupcakes, we finally headed home, but the fun is no where near to being done:)  Yasmine and Mikayla each have a friend staying over tonight, so they are completely off the walls excited.  Here are some pictures so far from our fun evening.

Southwestern College Women's Basketball Reunion

My family and I hopped in the car on Friday after work and headed to Winfield, Kansas so we could attend the SC women's basketball reunion. I was really looking forward to seeing all my best friends from college! The girls and Frankie were looking forward to it because we were getting a hotel with an indoor pool so they could swim and hang out while I was getting re-acquainted with old buddies!

When we arrived on Friday night, we no more than laid our bags down in the room and the girls were OFF to the pool! We did have a little mis-hap on Friday night. Keeley accidentally got her finger shut in the bathroom door and it nearly ripped off her entire fingernail. Thank goodness for Petey who is one of my dearest friends from college and still lives in Winfield. She was more than happy to make a house call and come take a look at Keeley's finger. We decided she was going to live, but it was pretty traumatic for all of us. When we saw her poor little finger, I think everyone of us, Yasmine, Mikayla, Daddy and I all had a tear in our eye because we felt soo bad for our poor Keeley! She was such a tough girl.   Here are some pictures from happier times in the evening.

On Saturday morning, we had a brunch with all the girls that had come back and then we headed to the gym where they were having a shoot-around and going over the scouting report for the game that night.

Later in the afternoon, my parents came to take over the girls for a little while so Frankie could join me for our lunch out at The Ridge.

Dana and I have been friends since before we started pre-school!  Anytime Dana and I get together, you can guarentee there will be some funny stories told!  We share lots and lots of memories together growing up and playing ball together from recreation basketball in grade school to college ball at Southwestern!

Brrrrrrr...

Lots of ice.  Lots of snow.  That was our weekend.

After an ice/snow storm came through on Thursday, we have pretty much been house-ridden until today.  It is still cold and the roads are spotty in places, but it was nice to get out of the house...AND finally be able to get my weekend starbucks.

Can you believe this is really a color picture? It was sooo grey outside today.

My poor flower pot.

This is my water fountain...looking rather odd.  It kind of looks like a milk shake in a glass with whip cream on the top.  Why does everything remind me of food?

Weekend Happenings

We had a pretty busy weekend!  Mom and Dad got here on Friday so they could see Larry the Cable Guy's show at the Riverwind Casino.  Git-R-Done!

Yasmine and Mikayla had their first basketball games of the season on Saturday morning.  Frankie offered up to coach both of their teams, so I think our Saturday mornings for the next couple of months are going to be a little chaotic.  I don't know what we are going to do when Keeley starts playing.  The three girls are all just far apart enough in age that they will always be in seperate age groups when it comes to their teams, so I guess he will be coaching three teams next year:)  We were really proud of Yasmine and Mikayla and their hoop skills!  I remembered to bring my camera, but when I whipped it out to take pictures...the batteries were dead.  Figures.

Saturday afternoon, Mikayla had a birthday party/slumber party to go to.  It was her FIRST sleepover and she had soo much fun!  I think Yasmine and Keeley missed their sister.  It isn't very often that the three of them are seperated!

On Saturday night, Hubby and I had a date night since Mom and Dad were in town to watch the kiddos.  That is what grandparents are for, right? :)  We actually attended his boss's birthday party in which we ate dinner at SHIKI, a japanese steakhouse, and then we headed down to bricktown where we went to City Walk.  I can't remember the last time I have been to a dance club!  I think I had more fun people watching and trying to figure out if we were in fact, the oldest ones in the club.  LOL! Thanks Mom and Dad for watching the girls...Frankie and I had a lof of fun!
