Happy Birthday Yasmine and Mom!!!!

August 22nd is a very special day as we have two very important birthdays to celebrate! Yasmine turned 8 years old today and my Mom turned another year older. I will let her tell you how old she is:)
For Yasmine's birthday, we threw a Jonas Brothers party at Perfect Swing which is a family fun center that is close to our house. They have all sorts of games inside along with an indoor kids playground. Outside they have batting cages, go carts and bumper cars.

Opening presents
The invitations looked like concert tickets.
The goodie bags were filled with candy bars, a homemade cd, an activity pad and a pen.
We made all the kids a cd with 8 songs (most songs were by Miley Cyrus and Jonas Brothers!)

We had candybar wrappers made to send home with the kids.

Now that the party is over we are all ready to take a nap:) We hope you had a wonderful day Yasmine!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM! I hope you are having a wonderful day too! We love you!!

First Day Of School

Today was Yasmine and Mikayla's first day of school! Yasmine is in 3rd grade this year and Mikayla is in Kindergarten. It was such an exciting day for the girls! Of course my camera decided it would not work today, so I had to take these from my cell phone.

Fun with caramel apples

Keeley and I thought we would have some fun and make caramel apples. I am contemplating on making them for Yasmine's birthday party which is next weekend, but I am not sure how I am going to bring the whole Jonas Brothers theme into the caramel apples:) Last night we decided to decorate them with m&m's and I attempted to decorate one like a peace sign. I wish I would have had sprinkles on hand, we could have created a masterpiece:)
Have a good weekend!

A trip down memory lane

On Saturday, Sarah, my best friend from college drove down to Oklahoma from Kansas City with her husband and family to stay the weekend with us. We have had this weekend planned for months, so we were soo excited when it finally came around! It seemed like it took forever to get here. I had soo much fun being able to hang out with Sarah. We can just sit down and talk for hours and hours and it seems like the weekend just flew by. On Saturday, we just hung around the house with the kids and had a little bbq. On Sunday, Ben, Sarah's husband got up bright and early and fixed everyone a yummy breakfast consisting of bacon and eggs. In the afternoon, we headed out to the lake, which is only about 10 minutes from our house. After a couple of hours at the lake, we decided to wrap it up and head back home for some Papa John's pizza. After everyone was nice and full, Sarah and Ben had to leave so they could go stay with her parents for one last night before heading back to KC. We can't wait for them to come back again...we had sooooo much fun! Ben, Sarah, Brylee (5 months) and Lexy (5 years old)

I thought this picture was hilarious! I had to put it on this post. Brylee had a hold of both Lexy and Sarah's hair and wouldn't let go for anything!

Sarah and I with our girls!

When Sarah and I were in college we would go to Braums AT LEAST once a week to get our cappuccino chunky chocolate yogurt cones. We had to make sure we kept up with the tradition while Sarah was here on her visit:)

Lawton Water Park

On Saturday, we drove to Lawton to Frankie's parents house and took the kids to the Comanche Nation Water Park. The girls had a BLAST!! They wouldn't let cameras inside, but I managed to sneak my camera in for one picture so you could catch a glimpse of the water park:) They had a big lazy river, a huge wave pool, two monsterous slides (which you see in the picture below) and a kiddie pool with three different smaller slides. I wish I could have taken more pictures!
