POPS on route 66

We decided to have a girls night out for dinner, so we invited our friend Diane and we went and tried out POPS on the historic route 66. POPS is a gas station, restaurant, shake shop, gift shop, convenience store and event venue all in one! It has a huge 66 foot soda pop bottle out in front of the restaurant which is pretty cool. They also have every imaginable type of soda you can think of...hence, the name "POPS" !! If you are ever in Oklahoma, you should check this historic landmark out!

The Mystery

***WARNING, the word "poop" is used like 50 times in this post! Read at your own Risk***

We had an interesting evening at the Parks residence. Keeley and I decided we would make cupcakes tonight. It was really random and we didn't have anything special to celebrate, but Keeley (wink, wink) OK, Mommy, was just in the mood for them. During our cupcake making process, Keeley said she had to go potty, so I told her to go to the bathroom and get on the potty. One minute later, I walked into the bathroom and she had pooped on the floor an inch away from the toilet. Ok, whatever, it's not like I have never cleaned up her poop before. So, after we got everything cleaned up and finished baking our cupcakes, we were getting ready for bed and Keeley said, "Mommy! What is this?" and she showed me her hands. There was poop on her hands! I hurried her into the bathroom again and got her cleaned up. I figured she had pooped her pants and it was leaking out and she got some on her hands. I went to take her undies off and there was no poop in sight! CRAP! (literally!) This has to mean there is a possibility that poop is laying around somewhere in the living room of my house and I have no idea where it is! I have searched high and low for the poop and I have no idea how she got it on her hands. I probably won't get a wink of sleep worrying about the mysterious poop!

Playdate with Preston

Since I didn't have to work on Friday, I took Keeley over to my friend Elaina's house so she could play with Preston. Keeley was in heaven. She jumped on the trampolene, swam in the pool and climbed all over the playset! She was ready for a good nap after that visit:)

HoopFest 2009

Frankie and I made a trip to Spokane, Washington so he could play in Hoopfest with his best friend Mack. Hoopfest in Spokane is the world's largest 3 -on-3 tournament in the world. They had over 6,600 teams signed up this year varying in all ages/ gender/ abilities. The whole atmosphere of the event is a pretty cool thing and we hope it is something we can take our girls to someday when they get a little older. I can just see all three girls out there on the court with their curly hair bouncing up and down:).
What made this trip even more fun was getting to hang out with Emily (Mack's wife) and her amazing family who was soo wonderful to us during our stay there. We truly felt like we were a part of the family. Emily's parents, Pam and Bill, live in Spokane so they had us over for dinner both Friday and Saturday night and let me tell you...that Pam CAN COOK! Everything was soooo good and I might just have to fly out there again sometime soon so I can eat more of her chocolate chip cookie pie. All the laughs we had over Emily and her two brother's childhood stories gave me a pretty good ab workout that should last me for awhile:)
This year, Mack came up with the great idea to name the team "Pam's Team" which was a very special tribute to Emily's mom, Pam, who is a breast cancer survivor. You could definitely spot us out of the crowd in our pink shirts, and we had a various number of people come up to us and tell us how much they appreciated the support and awareness that we were bringing to breast cancer. It was a GREAT weekend!

The Cheerleader and the jock. (get it right...Frankie is the cheerleader...I am the jock:)

Check out that action shot:)

Let's get this game started!

I didn't know Mack could jump that high!

Popcorn cake

Sister...LOOK WHAT YOU MADE ME DO! My sister recently had a post on her blog where she and the kids made popcorn bars. They looked sooo good and I couldn't help myself, so I made a small popcorn cake this evening with M&M's sprinkled in. YUMMY! I know what I am having for breakfast in the morning:) I wonder how many Weight Watcher points it will be??? For anyone else that wants to join in on the fun, you can click here for the recipe! (The recipe calls for peanuts, but I leave them out!)

Father's Day BBQ at the Lake

We finally got the boat out for the first time this summer! We invited some friends to the lake today and had a really great time. The men were able to have some "Father's Day" bonding and the kids had fun swimming and playing around together. Frankie and I both got some pretty bad sunburns. We were soo concerned with getting the suncreen lathered all over Keeley that we failed to use it ourselves! The day also ended with a flat tire, but the good news is that we got the boat back to storage and the car back in the driveway before the tire became completely flat. Pretty good timing, if I might say so myself:)

Loading the boat up!
