Playdate with Preston

Since I didn't have to work on Friday, I took Keeley over to my friend Elaina's house so she could play with Preston. Keeley was in heaven. She jumped on the trampolene, swam in the pool and climbed all over the playset! She was ready for a good nap after that visit:)

HoopFest 2009

Frankie and I made a trip to Spokane, Washington so he could play in Hoopfest with his best friend Mack. Hoopfest in Spokane is the world's largest 3 -on-3 tournament in the world. They had over 6,600 teams signed up this year varying in all ages/ gender/ abilities. The whole atmosphere of the event is a pretty cool thing and we hope it is something we can take our girls to someday when they get a little older. I can just see all three girls out there on the court with their curly hair bouncing up and down:).
What made this trip even more fun was getting to hang out with Emily (Mack's wife) and her amazing family who was soo wonderful to us during our stay there. We truly felt like we were a part of the family. Emily's parents, Pam and Bill, live in Spokane so they had us over for dinner both Friday and Saturday night and let me tell you...that Pam CAN COOK! Everything was soooo good and I might just have to fly out there again sometime soon so I can eat more of her chocolate chip cookie pie. All the laughs we had over Emily and her two brother's childhood stories gave me a pretty good ab workout that should last me for awhile:)
This year, Mack came up with the great idea to name the team "Pam's Team" which was a very special tribute to Emily's mom, Pam, who is a breast cancer survivor. You could definitely spot us out of the crowd in our pink shirts, and we had a various number of people come up to us and tell us how much they appreciated the support and awareness that we were bringing to breast cancer. It was a GREAT weekend!

The Cheerleader and the jock. (get it right...Frankie is the cheerleader...I am the jock:)

Check out that action shot:)

Let's get this game started!

I didn't know Mack could jump that high!

Popcorn cake

Sister...LOOK WHAT YOU MADE ME DO! My sister recently had a post on her blog where she and the kids made popcorn bars. They looked sooo good and I couldn't help myself, so I made a small popcorn cake this evening with M&M's sprinkled in. YUMMY! I know what I am having for breakfast in the morning:) I wonder how many Weight Watcher points it will be??? For anyone else that wants to join in on the fun, you can click here for the recipe! (The recipe calls for peanuts, but I leave them out!)

Father's Day BBQ at the Lake

We finally got the boat out for the first time this summer! We invited some friends to the lake today and had a really great time. The men were able to have some "Father's Day" bonding and the kids had fun swimming and playing around together. Frankie and I both got some pretty bad sunburns. We were soo concerned with getting the suncreen lathered all over Keeley that we failed to use it ourselves! The day also ended with a flat tire, but the good news is that we got the boat back to storage and the car back in the driveway before the tire became completely flat. Pretty good timing, if I might say so myself:)

Loading the boat up!

Trip to Kansas City

This past weekend, Keeley and I drove up to Kansas City with my parents to be with my sister and her family. My brother-in-law's mother passed away after a 5 year battle with cancer. She was a fantastic lady and was a GREAT mother-in-law to my sister. I am so happy that they were able to make a lot of memories together. Just over Mother's Day last month, they all went camping together and I am sure that will be a trip they always remember.
We spent a lot of time outside on Nicole and Mike's deck over the weekend. It was ABSOLUTELY beautiful and I tried to snap a few pictures of the kids playing. We also got to eat my brother-in-law's special brisket, and anyone who knows my brother-in-law, knows he makes the best BBQ in town!

Long Weekend!

My sister called me and was worried my blog was broken because it hasn't been updated in a week. :) I guess that means I better get a post up! Well...my first ever Garage Sale this past weekend was a success! It took me about a week to gather everything up and price everything that I wanted to sell...but it was worth it. We had a pretty good turn out and it feels good to clean out everything and de-clutter the house! Even now after the garage sale is over, I am finding things and saying, "Dang it, why didn't I sell that?"

On Sunday, the girls and I spent all afternoon enjoying the HOT and SUNNY weather. Our first stop was at Traci's pool at her condo. After Keeley's 20th attempt to jump in the deep end un-attended, I decided maybe the splash pad would be a better option. Soo...we packed everything up and headed to the splash pad. I was more relaxed and enjoyed the sun while the girls played. I didn't have to worry about anyone drowning! After they had enough of the splash pad, we headed back home to find Daddy had filled their little pool in the backyard. After they had all turned into little prunes, we made them come in and clean up. Keeley got her first little tan. I think she is going to get pretty dark in the summers like her big Sister and Daddy!

Have a good week!
