STOP #1

I had a 5 hour lay over today in Kansas City before my flight to NYC. My awesome sister picked me up at the airport and after a trip to Starbucks, we picked up some lunch so I coud suprise my neice and nephew at school. They were sooo surpised to see me there and we had a GREAT LUNCH! Thanks for picking me up sister and I will buy you something when I am in New York. :)

Girls Trip to NYC!

I am blogging from the airport this morning because I am on my way to NYC with Dory! Dory is one of my very best friends that I met in Kansas City and we have become quite the travel buddies over the years!

We have all sorts of fun stuff planned. That list includes shopping, going to see Wicked, and most importantly, our Sex and The City tour package that we purchased tickets for already:).

I will try and post pictures throughout our trip!

Lessons from friends!

Well...we are almost to Friday:) In the past week, I have learned two important lessons from friends, so i thought I would pass them on to you guys as well!

#1. Get your moles checked. A friend of a friend who is 24 years old had a mole that she had removed several times. This last time she went in, she had the mole removed AGAIN and sent off to the lab. When she got the results back she was at a stage four cancer. GET YOUR MOLES CHECKED! Since I am a "Moley" person to say the least, I went in last week and the dr. removed one of my moles and I am now going to be on a six month check up schedule. Better safe than sorry!

#2. Don't ever leave a check in your mailbox for the mailman to pick up. Chelsea, a girl who works for me, put her and her roommates rent checks in the mail for the mailman to pick up. Three weeks later, her and her roommate had about $800 worth of charges taken out of their checking account and guess what...the landlord never got her check. Apparently people are going around and if they see your flag up on your mailbox, they steal your mail and if they get lucky, they find checks and commit some kind of check fraud.

That's it for today's life lessons:) Have a great day!

Weekend with the FAM and Happy Birthday wishes to Dana!

HAPPY BIRTDHAY DANA!!! Dana is a friend that I met when we were only two years old and we have been friends ever since! We went to Grade School, Jr. High, High School, and College together. We have soooo many memories and she is a very special friend. Even though we live far apart and don't get to see each other as often as we would like to, I hold a very special place in my heart for Dana and she will always be a dear friend. Miss you and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
My Mom and Dad came down for the weekend and soo far we have been having all sorts of fun! Last night while Frankie went to the MMA fight with some friends (That MMA boxing/fighting isn't exactly my cup of tea!) the rest of us went to the glitzy and glamourous Golden Corral for dinner. Yasmine and Mikayla LOVE that place. Out of a full bar of food, they get the same thing, plate after plate of white rice and chicken. Now Keeley on the other hand will eat pizza, fish, and ketchup. YEP, she was eating ketchup with a spoon last night. That's my daughter, folks!
After dinner, we went to Barnes and Noble and Mom let the girls each pick out a book. I even had time to pick out a book (Tori Spelling's new book "Mommywood") before Keeley graciously blessed us with a stinky surprise and we had to exit the building:)
Today, Mikayla had a re-scheduled soccer game which marked the END of soccer season. She was soo excited that Grandma and Papa were there to watch her. She did a great job and she is already ready for next season! Right after the game, we sent Keeley home with her Daddy to take a nap and the rest of us went to the movie "17 Again". It was a pretty cute movie, but at one point I looked over at my mom and her eyes were closed. She swears she was only asleep for a short amount of time and did in fact enjoy the movie!
I hope everyone is having as good of weekend as I am having with my family! I am soo happy my Mom and Dad came to visit. We love you Grandma and Papa!

Doesn't Mikayla's coach on the left look like Maggie Gyllenhaal...sort of...kind of?

I caught my Mom sleeping through the movie...now if you look at the picture closely, I think my Dad is sleeping through the soccer game...that or the flash of the camera made him blink:)

Maggie Moo's Surprise

Happy Wednesday! Today is Traci's 27th Birthday! Traci has been working with me since she graduated college. Actually she hadn't even graduated yet before she started working for me! She was just this cute, young girl coming out into the real world and she has blossomed into this (still really cute) young professional woman! Traci and I are both from Caldwell KS, we both went to Southwestern College, we both played sports, and our mom's work together! Do you see any similarities?? Today, we decided to take her to Maggie Moo's for a little birthday treat. When we went to pay...he said we owed $2.45. How can that be? There were four of us and we all got scoops of ice cream with "mix-in's"! Apparently, they were giving everyone free scoops of ice cream as a promotion for TAX DAY! We only had to pay for the mix-in's. It was a nice surprise! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRACI!

I am not quite sure what to do with myself tonight. We don't have the girls this evening and there are no soccer practices or games to be late too:) I am fixing chicken for dinner and I am trying out a new Scott Farms seasoning. Scott Farms has all sorts of great seasonings/rubs and dip mixes. Frankie and I have found some we REALLY like and they are HEALTHY! They don't sell them in the stores, but you can order them online. www.scottfarms.net Some of our favorites are: Grateful Garlic, Blackened Seasoning, Territorial Dip Mix and the Smokey Chipolte Black Bean Dip.

I guess I better go check on Keeley...it is waaaaay to quiet, so she must be up to something:) To be continued...

Happy Easter

Happy Easter! Since it is rainy and cold outside, we decided to have a little Easter egg hunt for Keeley this morning inside our house. We hid eggs and little gifts all around the living room and she was soo cute trying to go and find them. She would find an egg...check to make sure it had candy inside...and then would move on to the next! The Easter Bunny brought her all sorts of stuff including bubbles, books, more candy...and even a jumping bunny that poops jelly beans as he hops!

The infamous bunny that leaves jelly bean droppings!

Playing BUBBLES with Mommy!

CANDY!

I wonder what's inside!

A new Dora Book!

I see another egg!
